Today we took a little trip to Louisville to visit some of Nate’s family for Christmas. His grandparents were having a casual little get together at the club house in their community. It was a nice family filled afternoon of yummy finger foods and a pretty intense game of spoons! We literally ripped a table cloth apart playing spoons. Yikes! Sorry about your pretty floral table cloth, Grandma. She was playing too though, so I guess it’s alright. We headed home around 4pm and listened to The Trivia Guys podcast during trip. We have become SO nerdy. Ok. No. I take that back. I have become so nerdy. You’ve probably heard me talk about how we (us and a small group of friends) go to trivia night at local bars around town. We usually do alright, but we’ve only won money two or three times and I thought it’d be fun to look for a trivia podcast that I could listen to to pass the time at work. So anyway, we spent our trip home yelling out answers to all sorts of history, sports, pop culture, etc. questions. I love our nerdy fun!
Before we left the house I snapped a few pictures of my outfit. I’ve decided to just quit being so…. typical me, and quit waiting for the perfect scenery or moment for outfit pictures. I’ve been struggling a lot with my blog. Feeling inadequate or like I don’t measure up to other fashion bloggers or lifestyle bloggers. Trust me, I know that this is no way to think but I’m only human and those feelings can creep in from time to time. I want to make progress, but at the same time I just have to be me and quit thinking about what everyone else is doing. If most of my photos are taken in my backyard- so be it. If I don’t host a ton of give aways- oh well. I think I just need to quit being so tough on myself and realize that there are people who already like what I’m doing. That doesn’t mean that I don’t want to see a larger readership here- but I want it to be because I’m enjoying what I’m doing. =)
Hope you’re all having a great weekend so far! Nate and I are headed out for a lovely date night at PF Changs. I will have to get a few pictures of us together, because he looks smokin’ in his gray blazer. I’m just saying!
