Mustard + Grey

I wore this outfit to work today. This color combo is such a seasonal favorite of mine. And this sweater? If I could have one in every single color, I would. It’s the most comfortable thing I own. Oh and I hope you all like seeing these boots because I may never take them off. I bought them at the beginning of the Summer and I’m a little bit too excited to finally wear them!
I haven’t been as present here on the blog as I’d like to have been lately. We’ve been taking a lot of things day by day around here. Sometimes taking photos or answering emails just seems like, too much. And sometimes it seems like the only thing that I want to do. I know that even during the hard times, I need to write here. I need to keep taking outfit photos and participating in this community - because I love it, because it’s my normal.
Nate and I both got home around the same time today. He needed a hair cut and we desperately needed groceries, so we set out to tackle those two errands and got side tracked by Steak & Shake in between them. I honestly think it was a good choice to break for dinner, because I tend to need all of the foods when I’m starving. I can promise you that our shopping trip would’ve been really pointless/ridiculous had we gone in hungry!
Well, it’s time for me to get to bed. I’ve been writing this post for over an hour - that is how hard it is for me to sit down and write a blog post right now. By the time I get anywhere near finishing it I’m pretty much over it, and then completely unhappy with the way I’ve strewn my words together. It’s exhausting. Maybe I need to try a different style of writing for a while? Maybe this blog needs to be less of a structured journal entry and more of a place for stories and snippets of important moments. Or maybe I just need some sleep.

I’m Wearing: GAP Sweater, Jeans via Forever21, Boots from Express, Betsey Johnson leopard heart earrings, and a Target scarf.

Pieces of The Days // Busy Weekends

Ah, the weather here has been so perfect! This past weekend was beautiful and we spent as much time as possible outside. There was a little bit of everything - dinner downtown with friends, trivia, patio grilling, and a girls night out with Kristie while the boys went to the football game! We had such a good time traipsing all over downtown and chatting. The unplanned weekends that fall perfectly into place = my favorite! The photo of us is in front of a new local place downtown that serves a bacon cocktail! You heard me right - bacon cocktail. Mind blown.

I made it back to the gym on Sunday and seriously kicked my own butt. I started feeling it midday Monday while walking around downtown Louisville in the rain with co-workers. Thankfully, most of my day was spent sitting in a business meeting taking notes. I’ve done my best the past two days to try and walk normally but it’s not happening yet. I can’t wait to get past the pain and back into a good workout routine. I just have to remind myself that it will pass!

Little Bits Of Summer

It’s been quite a few weekends ago that Nate and I made our way downtown to the Farmers Market. I kept meaning to post these photos but some how other things kept coming up! I think maybe I also held off because I had worn this top in almost every outfit post for a week or two! Ha! Don’t hate me for wearing a white skirt after Labor Day, either. These were taken long before! But can I just say? We never followed the “white rule” in Florida.. so, I really couldn’t care less about it. I guess I pretty naturally just don’t wear white in the Fall though.

We didn’t make it down to our Farmers Market as many times as I would have liked this Summer. It runs every weekend until October I believe, so we still have a few more chances! Now that I think about it, I bet I will love it even more once the crisp air settles in and the leaves are changing all around! It’s still in the 80s right now though, so it’s a little hard to think of Fall being right around the corner. I went ahead and did my seasonal cleaning over the past weekend, took down all of the Summer decor, and put out my pumpkins and leaves. It doesn’t matter what season it is - I love changing the house around to match it. Simple happies, ya’ll!

I really wish we lived downtown sometimes. It would be so nice to be able to just hop on my bike and pedal down to pick up some fresh produce and pretty handmade items. Though depending on when you ask me, I will tell you that I want to live in almost every possible setting there is. I can see us out on a few acres of land in a gorgeous ranch home, I can imagine Nate and I living in a high rise downtown in a big city, and then I can also picture us right here in our cozy little neighborhood where the houses are a tiny bit too close together. There’s something wonderful about each scenario! I suppose having friends that live downtown is the best of both worlds really, because we can just go over to their house and walk from there!
